My new Code page is now online, where you can download some of my little project exercises. You’ll find the REST web services project I talked about a few weeks ago, as well as a lightweight inversion of control container. I’m releasing these projects as public domain since they were really just exercises and not full-fledged usable codebases.

The Perils of Upgrading

After a while of putting it off, I finally upgraded my WordPress installation tonight to the latest version. Sadly, I had a moment of silliness and accidentally deleted my wp-content folder, which contains all of my uploaded images among other things. I’ve restored a couple of them, the rest are on a different computer that I’ll have to get later. Luckily my site doesn’t have many images.

Just further proof that even supposedly brilliant people can make really dumb mistakes from time to time.

Updated 9/11/09: Okay, looks like everything should be back in order now… at least until next time.

As an aside, I realize that this is a pretty weak post in light of my long stretches of silence. My current project has me pretty busy, but hopefully I will have some more discussions on agile and whatnot in the near future.

Small Update

I haven’t posted in a little while, so I just wanted to assure everyone that I’m still alive. I had a nice week-long vacation, and now I’m working on getting up to speed on a new project and company.

In the meantime, here’s a little gem from Dave Nicolette that I found amusing and sadly true:

Well, it looks like I won’t get to do Agile Development Practices 2008 as I posted earlier, due to a horrible case of tonsillitis. I doubt, as I am still bed-ridden today, that I will be in any shape to travel by Sunday. This makes me really sad since I was looking forward to the conference.

Updated 6:09pm: Looks like they were able to transfer my registration to STAREAST, though, so all is not lost!
